Diane C. Leonhardt, age 68 of rural Kellogg, died Monday, August 7, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 23, 1949 in Wabasha, the daughter of Edward and Ruby (Holst) Law. She was a graduate of Wabasha High School, Class of 1967. She then attended college for one year. She was united in marriage to Larry Leonhardt November 4, 1972 at the Plainview United Methodist Church.
Diane worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone for 13 years as an administrative clerk and then worked 13 years as a paralegal for Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services located in Winona. She was a homemaker and helped her husband with their dairy operation. She also had her own business named Natures Little Farm where she sold her naturally grown vegetables and produce.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Leonhardt, Kellogg, MN; three sons and daughters-in-law, Justin and Gayle Leonhardt, Kellogg, MN, Jeremiah and Jessica Leonhardt, Kellogg, MN, Joshua and Sara Leonhardt, Center City, MN; five grandchildren, Carson, Preston, Noah, MacKenzie and Ellie; five step-grandchildren, Uriah (Valerie) Peterson, Cassandra (Jamie) Hemphill, Hali Peterson, Zackary (Trista) Peterson and Taylor (Adam) Scott; six step-great-grandchildren, Greta and Emmett, Jacob and Julia, Jason, and Lily; sisters and brother-in-law, Rita and Charles Ray, Pocahontas, AZ, Debra Kaldenberg, Rochester, MN; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Karen Law, Mantorville, MN; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by grandson, Taylor Leonhardt and her parents, Edward and Ruby Law.
A memorial service celebrating Diane’s life will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 11:00am at the Kellogg United Methodist Church with the Reverend Cooper Wiggen officiating. A private interment will be at Lakewood Cemetery in Lake City. Family and friends may call at the Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha on Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 4-8pm and at the church on Friday one hour before the service.
