Betty L. (Mrs. Herman) Evers, age 75, of Wabasha, died Friday, April 6, 2012 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Wabasha. She was born September 1, 1936 in Wabasha, the daughter of Elmer and Ethel (Radatz) Larson. She graduated from Nelson High School in 1954. Betty worked for Arntson Drug for two years and then 21 years for Earl Schnirring at the Family Bakery, both located in Wabasha. She then worked in the laundry department of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and Health Care Center for 25 years. She married Herman “Hermie” Evers June 28, 1958 at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha.
She was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed gardening, baking and tending to and caring for the roses at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. In their younger years Betty and Hermie loved dancing, especially square dancing.
Betty is survived by husband, Herman “Hermie” Evers, Wabasha, MN; son and daughter-in-law, Kim and Mary Evers, Lakeville, MN; two grandsons, Tyler and Jonathon Evers, Lakeville, MN; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Herman Gander, Kellogg, MN; brother and sister-in-law, Darrel and Darlene Larson, Nelson, WI; sisters-in-law, Viola Miller, Plainview, MN, Mary Keeley, Wabasha, MN, Bernita (Calvin) McQuiston, Lake City, MN, Judy (Dick) Herbst, Lake City, MN, Cecelia (Marty) Wagner, Wabasha, MN, Eleanor (Jay) Taverna, Nelson, WI, Sue Evers, Minnesota City, MN; brothers-in-law, Clarence (Mary) Evers, Wabasha, MN, Elmer (Mary) Evers, Lake City, MN, Donald (Kathy) Evers, Pepin, WI, Ralph “Pete” (Sherry) Evers, Wabasha, MN; nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death her parents, Elmer and Ethel Larson, brother, Donald Larson, sister, Lois Schliker, parents-in-law, Leo and Catherine Evers and brother-in-law, Bert Evers.
A funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 11:00am at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha with the Reverend Robert Meyer officiating. Interment will be in St. Felix Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Tyler and Jonathon Evers, Darrel Larson, Jr., Todd Gander, Darin Larson, and Steve Evers. Family and friends may call at the Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha on Sunday from 4-8pm at which time there will be a prayer service and they may call at the church on Monday one hour before the service.
