Please accept my condolences on the death of Jean. I used to work for Jean cleaning the farm house when I was in high school. Jean and Ervin were great and caring people.

Jean and I were cousins. My father, Lawrence Kieffer, and Jean's mother, Leona Marmsoler, were brother and sister. My parents lived in Elba, a village only about five miles from Jean's girlhood home in Altura, and we were frequent visitors at their home on the outskirts of Altura. I was still a preteen when Jean and Ervin married, and so I don't remember a lot about Jean. I do remember visiting her parents' home and they were always very king.

When my mother died in 1990, Jean wrote a nice letter to me and sent family photos of my parents that she had saved. She also reminded me that my wife and I had not visited her family in Kellog. I appreciated Jean's kindness.

My condolences to Jean's family and to Dale and Gerva.
