Judith “Judie” M. Fogarty, 76 of Wabasha, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at her home following an illness.
Judith Marie was born March 7, 1943, in Richmond, CA to Earl and Marie (Brust) Bung. She graduated from John Marshall High School, Rochester, MN. In her early career, she was a school secretary at John Marshall HS, Rochester and for the Mankato School District. She also did missionary work for a short time in Haiti.
On August 24, 1963, she married Paul Fogarty at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rochester. Together they raised four sons: Dean, Daniel, David and Vincent. She was a home maker and also a business agent for Paul, as he created and sold pottery. They moved to Wabasha in 1988. She served her church as a sacristan and Eucharistic minister at St. Felix Catholic Church, Wabasha for several years.
Judie is survived by her husband, Paul; three sons: Dean Fogarty, Vancouver, BC, Canada; David (Melissa) Fogarty, Winona; and Vincent (Kristi) Fogarty, Pine Island, MN; three grandchildren: Madeline, Jacob, and Brooke; a great granddaughter, Sophie; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her son Daniel Fogarty; her parents and her brother Roger Bung.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2019, at St. Felix Catholic Church, Wabasha with Reverend Father Gregory Parrott officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Rochester, MN.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
