Lucille M. Loechler, age 100, of Wabasha, died Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center in Wabasha. She was born September 23, 1917 on the family farm in Pepin Township of Wabasha County, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Marx) Pulles. She married Kenneth Loechler March 1, 1945 at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha. Lucille was a homemaker and she worked many years in charge of the St. Felix School Hot Lunch Program. She retired in 1997.
She was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church, its Council of Catholic Women and the National Catholic Society of Foresters. She and her husband, Ken, were caretakers of St. Felix Cemetery for many years. She enjoyed cooking, canning vegetables for her family and playing cards. In her younger years she enjoyed golfing. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Lucille is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lou and Gerald Wagner, Cottage Grove, MN, Joyce Loechler and Larry Kittleson, Hastings, MN, Royson (Sue) Snyder, Durand, WI; sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Susan Loechler, Mankato, MN, David and Anita Loechler, Rochester, MN; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken, daughter, Sharon Snyder, brothers, Clarence and Leo Pulles and sisters, Loretta Houser and Rosella Vaplon.
A funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 11:30am at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha with the Reverend Father Gregory Parrott and Deacon John Hust officiating. Interment will follow at St. Felix Cemetery. Visitation on Monday at Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha begins with a Foresters rosary service at 4pm and concludes at 7pm. Visitation continues on Tuesday one hour before the Mass at church. Memorials are preferred to St. Felix School, 130 3rd St. E., Wabasha, MN 55981.
