Obituary

Marlys A. "Molly" Watros, age 82, of rural Wabasha, formerly of Rochester and the Elkton area, passed this life on Sunday, December 8, 2019.  She was born August 30, 1937, in Mower County, the daughter of Miles and Julietta (Hanson) Otto.  Molly graduated from Elkton High School and then Hamilton Business School in Mason City, Iowa.  On October 11, 1958 she married her husband, Jerry, at Marshall Lutheran Church in rural Adams, Minnesota.  Molly and Jerry both worked for IBM and the couple moved to Rochester.

As Molly transitioned to a full-time homemaker, most weekends were spent at their cabin near Wabasha on Sand Prairie.  Many special family times and memories were made there.  In 1992 after Jerry retired and they moved permanently to Sand Prairie.  Molly enjoyed fishing from the dock, watching eagles, reading the bible and welcoming friends and family for visits.  She particularly enjoyed her time with her sister LaVonne, who also lives in the area.    

Molly is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Sue Watros, Maricopa, Arizona, Troy and Kelly Watros, Little Elm, Texas; seven grandchildren, Andy, Amber, Ashley, Alex, Casey, Peyton and Devin; sisters LaVonne Bianchi, Wabasha, Minnesota and Carolyn (Dick) Clapper, Britt, Iowa; brother-in-law, Tom Scaglione, LeRoy, Minnesota; sister-in-law Dona Schumann, LeRoy, Minnesota and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, her parents, her brother Roger Otto, brothers-in-law Arthur Bianchi, Chuck Watros, Duane Schumann and Les Miland, and sisters-in-law Jean Scaglione and Kay Miland. 

A remembrance event to celebrate Molly's life will be scheduled for a future date.
