Thomas A. Graff, 74 of Wabasha and formerly of Hastings, MN, passed away Monday, April 22, 2019, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Wabasha, MN.
Thomas Arthur was born July 31, 1944, in Minneapolis, MN. He was raised in Kellogg, MN, by his parents Arthur and Verna (Turner) Graff. He graduated from St. Felix High School, Wabasha. While attending Winona Technical College he was drafted and served in the U.S. Air Force and was deployed to Vietnam. After his honorable discharge, he was a machinist in the steel industry and retired from the State of Minnesota.
On July 29, 1972, he married Wanda Speedling in Conception, MN. They lived in Hastings for 43 years, where they raised their three children. They recently retired and moved to Wabasha. He enjoyed being with family and loved to be at the heart of the conversation. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors. He loved sports both on the field and watching from the sidelines. He coached many little league teams, had a long softball career, and was a lifelong golfer.
He is survived by his wife Wanda; three children: Jeff (Gretchen) Graff, Hastings; Sarah (Michael) Wotipka, St. Paul; Brian Graff, Red Wing, MN; two granddaughters: Tavia and Francie; sister Judy (Steve) Monchamp, Gardnerville, NV; mother-in-law Jean Speedling, Plainview, MN; and many brothers/sisters-in-law and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Verna Graff; and father-in-law Robert Speedling.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2019, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kellogg. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Military rites will be provided by the Wabasha American Legion Post #50, Burkhardt-Roemer VFW Post #4086 and active members of the United States Air Force.
